1. Operator and agreement
Applya is operated by H&J BUSINESS SOLUTIONS LTD. Contact support@hnjuk.co.uk for support, complaints and account questions. These terms govern your use of the Applya career workspace; read them with our Privacy Policy. By creating an account or continuing to use Applya after these terms have been made available, you agree to them. These terms do not remove any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.
2. What Applya provides
Applya helps you maintain a career profile, build CVs, discover opportunities, prepare application drafts and review applications. Optional functions include AI tailoring, daily searches and review notifications. Discovery does not cover every employer, job board or vacancy; adverts can change or close. Applya is not the employer or recruitment decision-maker and does not guarantee an interview, offer, eligibility, visa sponsorship or other outcome.
3. Your account and information
Keep credentials secure, provide accurate account details and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for the accuracy of your qualifications, employment history, skills, work authorisation and other application information. Do not invent credentials or upload material you have no right to use.
4. Review and approval
Before approving an application, review the actual CV, message and role requirements. AI checks are not a substitute for your review. Approval is recorded against the exact CV version you reviewed; a later edit needs a new approval. Approval records your decision. Where an employer uses its own website form, you complete that form yourself and mark the application as submitted, unless Applya does it for you. On the Pro and Max plans, Applya may fill in and submit that form for you after your approval. On the free plan it does so only within the one-off trial described in section 8: three applications, each one started by you, available once you have confirmed your email address and given once per email address. You can always choose to complete a form yourself, and when Applya cannot finish one it shows you where it got to. Once sent, an application cannot reliably be recalled.
5. AI, third parties and availability
AI-generated CVs and messages may contain errors, omissions or inappropriate wording; you decide whether to use them. Employer sites and job boards operate independently and may impose their own terms. We aim to keep the service available but cannot promise uninterrupted access. Keep your own copies of important CVs and confirmations.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Applya for spam, harassment, unlawful discrimination, impersonation, fraud or misleading applications, or to access another user's account or documents. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse or protect the service.
7. Your content and the platform
You retain your rights in the CVs, profile information and other material you supply. You give us permission to store, process, format and transmit that material only as needed to provide the service. Applya's branding and platform software are not transferred to you.
8. Charges, ending use and data
Applya has a free plan and paid plans (currently Pro and Max), described with their prices at applya.org/pricing and on the Plan & billing page before you buy. The free plan includes a one-off trial of three applications on employers' sites, given once per email address and available once you have confirmed yours; Applya makes at most six attempts in all under the trial, whether or not they end in a sent application. Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or quarterly in advance through Stripe, our payment processor; we do not see or store your card details. A plan renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from Plan & billing; it then runs to the end of the period already paid for and no further charge is taken. Paid plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee: within 14 days of your first payment, and while Applya has sent fewer than 10 applications for you since that payment (counting any it is still sending), you can ask from Plan & billing for a full refund of every payment for that plan since then, and the plan then ends at once; any credit that changing plan during that time left on your account is removed, because the payments it came from are refunded. The guarantee applies once per person: it is not given on an account whose email address, or the card it was paid with, has already had a refund under it on another account, and we may withhold the trial or the guarantee where accounts are opened to obtain them again. Otherwise, and except where the law requires otherwise, part-used periods are not refunded. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and the paid features stay on for a short time; if it keeps failing the account returns to the free plan. We may change prices or what each plan includes with at least 30 days' notice by email; a change applies from your next renewal. Where you have a statutory right to cancel a purchase within 14 days, you agree that the service starts at once and that the right is lost once it is used. To request account closure or deletion, email support@hnjuk.co.uk. Closing an account cannot withdraw applications already sent.
8A. Student discount and invite rewards
Student discount: if you study at a university or college and can receive email at its address (one ending .ac.uk or .edu, or .ac or .edu followed by a country code), you can confirm that address under Plan & billing for 25% off Pro or Max for 12 months from when the discount is applied. A confirmation lasts a year; after that you may confirm again if you are still studying, and the 12 months start again from then. Each address can be used on one account only, and addresses that differ only by a +tag (you+anything@) count as the same address. If your subscription already has another discount, such as a promotion code, we keep it rather than replace it; you can add the student discount from Plan & billing once it ends.
Invite rewards: someone who creates a new Applya account through your invite link gets 20% off their first payment. Once that payment has stood for 15 days without being refunded (including under our money-back guarantee) or disputed, you get a month of Pro: credit worth a month of Pro on your next bill if you have a subscription that will renew, otherwise 30 days of Pro, starting when any paid period, or any plan we have granted you, ends. If you have no subscription that will renew and we have granted you Pro or Max with no end date (as opposed to the free plan), there is nothing to add the 30 days to and no reward is given. You can earn up to 12 rewards in any 12 months. You cannot invite yourself, including through another account at your own email address (addresses that differ only by a +tag, or for Gmail only by dots, count as yours), and a payment made with your own card, or with a card already used for another of your invites, earns nothing.
One discount applies at a time; a confirmed student gets the student discount rather than the invite discount. Discounts and rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred or paid out. Fake accounts, inviting yourself, spam or other abuse voids the rewards and discounts involved, and we may withhold or reverse them. We may change or end either offer with reasonable notice on this page or by email; discounts already applied and rewards already earned are kept.
9. Responsibility and your legal rights
We are responsible for providing our service with the care required by applicable law. You remain responsible for reviewing information and deciding which jobs to apply for. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded; your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Changes and complaints
We may revise these terms to reflect changes in the service or legal requirements and will bring material changes to your attention. Send complaints to support@hnjuk.co.uk; nothing in these terms prevents you from seeking help from a regulator or a court with jurisdiction.
